The Women & Blues exhibit celebrates women’s entry into the world of jazz and blues. Located at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, DC, the exhibition is comprised of approximately 45 photographs of the music industry’s unforgettable. Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Bessie Smith, Shirley Horn, Sarah Vaughn and Dinah Washington are among the legends featured. In addition to their musical talents, the collection showcases the women’s finesse of fashion and heartfelt humanitarian efforts. Women & Blues moves gracefully with recorded sounds of the singers' smooth voices bellowing in the air. The exhibition offers reflections and thanks to the legends who paved the way for many vocalists and musicians of today.
