Nestled along the peaceful banks of the beautiful Arkansas River, Sax Man David Sanborn graced the stage of the ampitheatre in historic downtown Little Rock.
It was the city's first ever jazz festival. Sanborn took the crowds back to the good old days and worked his way around to some of his latest hit tunes. "It was a pleasure to entertain the Arkansas crowd. After all, it reminds me of home in nearby St. Louis, Sanborn told CRESCENDOjazz.com.
The event attracted an estimated 2 thousand strong - in addtion to food, vendors, arts and crafts. Sean Porch, festival founder and president/CEO, SDP Entertainment, told CRESCENDOjazz.com time had been well over due for a jazz festival in the capital city. "This is the first annual event. We plan to continue this. It's good for Arkansas," he said.
Additional artists that crowned the stage with their smooth operative sounds were vocalist Genine L. Perez and The Dave Rogers Trio.
Fans and festival volunteers were moved by the event's eloquent vibe.
